WokeWatch ("we," "us," "our," or "Company") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application (the "App").

Key Point: WokeWatch operates with user anonymity by default. We do not require personal information like names or emails to use the App.

2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Movie Ratings & Reviews (Primary Data)

  • Movie titles, IDs, and metadata you rate

  • Your wokeness ratings (scale-based scores)

  • Your quality ratings (scale-based scores)

  • Movie categories/tags you assign

  • Written comments or reviews you submit

  • Timestamp of your ratings

Authentication Data

  • Anonymous user ID (generated by Supabase)

  • Session information

  • Device identifier (for app functionality)

Automatic Collection

  • IP address

  • Device type, operating system, and version

  • App crash reports and error logs

  • Usage analytics (which features you use, how often)

  • Location data (general, for ads targeting only)

Payment Data

  • In-app purchase history (handled by Apple's App Store)

  • We do NOT collect credit card information—Apple handles all payment processing

  • Deliver the App: Process your ratings, display community statistics, and sync your data to the cloud (if enabled)

  • Improve the App: Analyze usage patterns to enhance features

  • Advertising: Google AdMob displays personalized ads based on your device and interests

  • Cloud Sync (Optional): If you enable cloud backup, your ratings are stored in our Supabase database

4. DATA STORAGE & CLOUD SYNC

Local Storage (Default)

  • Your ratings are stored on your device via encrypted local storage

  • You can use the App completely offline with no cloud account required

Cloud Sync (Optional)

  • If you choose to enable cloud sync, your ratings are uploaded to Supabase

  • Your data remains associated with your anonymous user ID

  • You can disable cloud sync at any time

5. THIRD PARTIES & DATA SHARING

We share information with:

We do NOT sell, trade, or rent your data to third parties. We do not share personal information (since we don't collect it).

6. DATA RETENTION

  • Local Data: Remains on your device until you delete the App

  • Cloud Data: Retained while your account is active; can be deleted by unsyncing from your device or requesting deletion

  • Analytics/Logs: Automatically deleted after 90 days

  • Advertising Data: Managed by Google AdMob (see their policy)

7. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

WokeWatch is not intended for users under 13 (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If we become aware a child has provided data, we will delete it immediately.

8. YOUR RIGHTS

Depending on your location (EU, UK, Canada, or US state privacy laws), you may have the right to:

  • Access your data

  • Correct inaccurate data

  • Delete your data

  • Export your data

  • Opt out of certain data processing

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We recommend:

  • Keeping your device's OS and app updated

  • Using a strong device lock

  • Disabling cloud sync if you prefer local-only storage

The App may contain links to third-party websites or services (e.g., TheMovieDB). We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Review their policies separately.

11. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
